New generation of auditors: Certified ISO 50001 training started

A certified training course for internal energy management auditors under the ISO 50001:2018 standard has commenced in Banja Luka. The training is intended for professionals seeking to provide high-quality support to small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the energy transition process.

The training includes 12 experts from various sectors who will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct internal audits of Energy Management Systems (EnMS) in accordance with ISO 50001:2018. They will also gain an understanding of how energy management contributes to reducing energy consumption, costs, and CO₂ emissions. The training combines theoretical and practical components, including exercises, group tasks, and audit simulations, and is led by an internationally accredited IRCA trainer.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive internationally recognized certificates, enabling them to take an active role in energy transition processes and enhancing the competitiveness of industrial enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The training is organized by Eda – Enterprise Development Agency as part of the DESET project – Digitally Enabled Sustainable Energy Transition of manufacturing SMEs, supported by the European Union and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ), under the EU4PSD – EU for Private Sector Development initiative. This initiative is part of the broader GIZ SEDEP program, which also receives funding from the Swiss government.

The DESET project is implemented by DIH IDEMO, which includes Eda – Enterprise Development Agency as the lead partner, along with partners: the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, the Innovation Center Banja Luka, and the Republic of Srpska Development Agency.
