The company “Poljoprom” Ltd from East Sarajevo is one of five SMEs, beneficiaries of the voucher program from the Strategy Implementation Enabling Mechanism (SIEM). It was founded in 2000 with the main activity in the sector of production of ready-made animal feed. The production program in this segment includes the production of ready mixes for different types and categories of domestic animals. In addition to the above, the company also produces table eggs and sells various types of agricultural inputs.
“The company needed technical support in the creation and introduction of a digital tool for the optimization of feed mixtures for domestic animals, on the one hand, and on the other hand, we also needed the establishment of all-day online monitoring of the microclimate conditions in the facility for the production of table eggs, that’s why we applied for a public call for introducing innovations. As part of the project, the PP OPTIMIKS software was created, which raised the process of compounding the fodder mixture to a higher level, and thanks to online monitoring, we can react in a timely manner in the future, which will avoid the death of animals, which happened to us once,” said the owner of the company Mr. Mile Sikima.
The project for introducing innovations in SMEs in the area of East Sarajevo is implemented by the East Sarajevo City Development Agency in cooperation with Eda and the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship of Republika Srpska.
The topic of the project “Introducing innovations in SMEs within the framework of the voucher program” is aligned with the recommendations of the Small Business Act and the SME Policy Index 2020 (dimension 8b) and has been identified as a priority in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska. This project is supported within the framework of the project “Advanced implementation of the Small Business Act BiH2EU – SBA in BiH2EU” which is implemented by Eda in cooperation with the Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency SERDA and financed by Sweden.
