New study published: How to improve support for the development of SMEs in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Eda has published a new study titled “How to improve support for the development of SMEs in BiH – A draft for future policies”, offering a comprehensive overview of the current situation and challenges, along with concrete recommendations for enhancing strategic planning and policy implementation aimed at supporting SMEs in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The study is the result of years of work and insights gained through the projects “SBA in BiH” and “SBA in BiH2EU”, implemented by Eda with the support of Sweden. It represents an important contribution to the development of new approaches tailored to the complexities of the modern business environment.

This document is intended for policymakers, institutions responsible for SME support, international projects, as well as all professionals involved in policy and instrument development in this field.

Through the analysis of three main options – maintaining the status quo, incremental improvements, and a new approach in conditions of complexity – the study calls for the simultaneous advancement of existing practices and the creation of space for innovative approaches to planning and interventions that better align with a reality marked by increasingly frequent and unpredictable challenges.
