Training completed: New experts equipped to lead the energy transition

A certified training course for consultants in the field of energy management has been successfully completed, bringing together 16 participants from various sectors interested in applying the ISO 50001:2018 standard.

During the two-day program, participants went through all the key steps for establishing an energy management system – from understanding regulatory and market contexts, through defining energy policy and objectives, to conducting energy reviews and internal audits. The program included lectures, practical exercises, simulations, and assignments, and was led by experienced trainers specializing in the application of ISO standards in industrial practice.

Special emphasis was placed on business context analysis, identification of risks and opportunities, development of energy baselines (EnB) and energy performance indicators (EnPI), as well as methods for internal system review and continuous improvement. In the final stage, participants demonstrated their newly acquired knowledge through tests and real-life case studies.

The training is part of the DESET project’s efforts to develop a network of qualified professionals capable of providing expert support to SMEs in Bosnia and Herzegovina on their path toward energy efficiency and sustainability.
It was organized within the framework of the DESET – Digitally Enabled Sustainable Energy Transition of manufacturing SMEs project, supported by the European Union and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ) through the EU4PSD – Private Sector Development in BiH initiative.

The DESET project is implemented by DIH IDEMO, consisting of Eda – Enterprise Development Agency as the lead partner, together with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, the Innovation Center Banja Luka, and the Development Agency of the Republic of Srpska.
