Training for energy management consultants has started

Today marks the start of energy management training designed for professionals aiming to provide high-quality support to manufacturing SMEs in their energy transition journey.

The training is organized as part of the DESET project – Digitally Enabled Sustainable Energy Transition of manufacturing SMEs, implemented with the support of the European Union and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ), within the EU4PSD – Support to Private Sector Development in BiH initiative.

Over the course of the two-day training, participants will master the key steps of ISO 50001 – from initial assessment to certification and gain an understanding of the consultant’s role and the impact of EU/regulatory requirements on SMEs. The training will be hands-on: rapid energy audit according to ISO 50002, defining the energy baseline (EnB) and performance indicators (EnPI), setting objectives and action plans, as well as the basics of internal auditing and continuous improvement. The training concludes with a knowledge check (test and case study).

The training is structured as a combination of short lectures, group work, and mini case studies from the domestic industry, using a hands-on approach and templates (checklists, reporting forms, and client briefing formats), ready for direct application in companies.

Upon completion of the training cycle, participants will apply the acquired knowledge through work with SMEs, supported by mentoring and experience sharing.

The DESET project is part of the Private Sector Development in BiH initiative. It is implemented by DIH IDEMO, led by Eda – Enterprise Development Agency as the project’s lead partner, in cooperation with: the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, the Innovation Center Banja Luka, and the Development Agency of the Republic of Srpska.
