Zdravko Miovčić awarded the “Aleksa Šantić” prize

The poet Zdravko Miovčić was awarded the “Aleksa Šantić” literary prize on Wednesday evening in Mostar, as part of the 105th Šantić Poetry Evenings. The prize is awarded by the Serbian Educational and Cultural Society “Prosvjeta,” the Mostar City Committee, and the Serbian Singing and Cultural Artistic Society “Gusle.”

Miovčić received the award for his poetry collection “Book of Leaves,” which includes a hat, a cane, and a monetary prize.

The societies “Prosvjeta” and “Gusle” award the “Aleksa Šantić” prize every three years for the best book of poetry published in the Serbian language or other South Slavic languages, or for a lifetime achievement in poetry.

The jury, consisting of Duško Pevulja, Dragan Stanić, and Vladan Bartula, unanimously decided to award Miovčić, stating that he is one of the most prominent Serbian poets.
