As a part of the activities of the project „SBA in BiH“ aimed at improving the dimension 7 (Standards and technical regulation) of the SBA profile of BiH, and in line with the OECD recommendation that it is necessary to improve the SME’s access to standardization, finalization of an analysis that includes mapping of quality infrastructure entities in BiH, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, and Hungary, whose services are relevant to companies operating in the metal, wood, food and plastics industry in BiH is ongoing. The mapping also includes entities that have the potential to become an accredited body whose services could be used by companies in the above-mentioned sectors.
The analysis with recommendations for capacity building of quality infrastructure entities aimed at support companies in relevant sectors should be used as input for harmonization of new SME development strategies for the period 2021-2027. Also, this analysis should enable policymakers at all levels to plan coherently what should be supported and wherein the preparation and accreditation of laboratories and other conformity assessment bodies.
