Within activities on implementation of the project “Improving the availability of technical standards for SMEs in BiH” implemented by the Institute for Standardization of B&H and Eda, contracts for the translation services of 21 technical standards in the field of welding, wood, and metal processing were signed. The contracts were signed with six associates, with each associate in charge of one lot. The Institute for Standardization of B&H, following its internal procedures, will provide translation materials to selected associates. Following the completion of translation services, the Institute will, through continuous communication with selected associates, members of technical committees, and other associates, ensure the implementation of the standard-setting process by the method of translation. In this way, there will be available a much larger number of required standards for companies.
As a part of this project, it is also ongoing a redesign of the Institute’s website, which should make it easy to search, identify, and download technical standards electronically.
The total amount of funds available for the implementation of the project “Improving the availability of technical standards for SMEs in BiH” is BAM 55.000. Its implementation was supported through the project“ European Small Business Act as a Framework for Strategies and Policies for SMEs in BiH – SBA in BiH” funded by Sweden through the Embassy of Sweden in B&H.
