Within the project “Partnership for Quality Jobs and Competitiveness”, financed by the European Union (under the call “Support to Local Employment Partnerships in BiH”, implemented by the International Labor Organization), which is implemented in the Municipality of Prnjavor, the research was conducted on the needs of industrial enterprises for labor force in the future and necessary knowledge and skills which unemployed should have to work in the industry.
Five major industrial companies were interviewed and all of them are interested to hire new employees in 2017 and 2018. In addition, representatives of enterprises pointed out the problem of untrained workforce in the labor market and the fact that new employees need to be trained to work in the industry, noting that usually costs of organization and training of workers are covered by companies alone. That is a significant burden for companies and some trainings companies cannot organize themselves so that support would be welcome.
Through the project “Partnership for Quality Jobs and Competitiveness” in 2017 and 2018, it is planned to organize training for 150 unemployed persons for active job searching and training for 75 unemployed persons aimed at acquiring skills and knowledge to work in the industry.
