Young welders are very successful in training

Within the project “Partnership for quality jobs and competitiveness”, training of the third group for welders was completed. The group consisted of 5 young, unemployed persons from Prnjavor, who attended practical training lasting 40 school hours, which took place at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Banja Luka. So far, a total of 15 welders have been trained. Both participants and trainers are very satisfied with results of the training, while professors pointed out that about 80% of the participants showed very good results, which is a rare situation for this occupation. The plan is to organize one more, the last training for welders within the project “Partnership for quality jobs and competitiveness”, which begins in January 2019.

Local partnership Prnjavor is one of 19 partnerships established in the country within the project “Support to Local Employment Partnerships in B&H”, funded by the European Union with 4 million EUR and implemented by the International Labor Organization (ILO), which aims to re-qualify nearly 2,000 unemployed persons and employ at least 620 of them in 22 local government units.

The partnership consists of Enterprise Development Agency Eda (lead partner), Municipality of Prnjavor, Employment Bureau, Secondary School Center “Ivo Andrić” and companies MI Trivas and Topling.
